Private Career College Students Need a Voice for Change
Hold ALL Schools in ALL Sectors to the Same Standards.
Stand with CECU and Advocate for Students of Private Career Colleges
Washington Should Not Pick Winners and Losers in Higher Education: It’s time for all schools to be put on a level playing field. CECU believes in equal accountability and student protection for all schools. Members of Congress and the Biden Administration want to allow 92% of colleges and universities to escape the scrutiny and accountability measures being applied to private career colleges. We believe that all schools, regardless of tax status, should be held accountable to the same performance metrics. Don’t let the other 92% of schools skate by with more lenient performance metrics. Hold ALL schools in ALL sectors to the same standards.
Student Choice: The choice of which school best fits their needs should be made by students, not politicians in Washington. Private career colleges are made up of non-traditional students of diverse backgrounds who are often working adults, single parents, people in a career transition, veterans, and many who are the first in their family to pursue higher education. Washington should not dictate the type of school that fits a student’s needs. One size does not fit all!
Stronger Workforce: Career colleges generate the talent needed in today’s workforce. They are students who graduate and serve the local community and add to the economy. Private career colleges graduate tradesmen and women, healthcare workers, IT professionals, mechanics, aviation technicians, truck drivers, cosmetologists, chefs, and other vital members of America’s labor market that help grow and sustain the American economy.
Don’t let politicians in Washington limit the educational options of these vital professions!
